Take some time for your
Self,
As
you got up this morning, I watched you, and hoped you would talk to
me, even if it was just a few words, asking my opinion or thanking me
for something good that happened in your life yesterday. But I noticed
you were too busy, trying to find the right outfit to wear. When you
ran around the house getting ready, I knew there would be a few minutes
for you to stop and say hello, but you were too busy.Take some time to remember Who You Are. Waiting patiently. At one point you had to wait, fifteen minutes with nothing to do except sit in a chair. Then I saw you spring to your feet. I thought you wanted to talk to me but you ran to the phone and called a friend to get the latest gossip instead. I watched patiently all day long. With all your activities I guess you were too busy to say anything to me. I noticed that before lunch you looked around, maybe you felt embarrassed to talk to me, that is why you didn't bow your head. You glanced three or four tables over and you noticed some of your friends talking to me briefly before they ate, but you didn't. That's okay. There is still more time left, and I hope that you will talk to me yet. You went home and it seems as if you had lots of things to do. After a few of them were done, you turned on the TV. I don't know if you like TV or not, just about anything goes there and you spend a lot of time each day in front of it not thinking about anything, just enjoying the show. I waited patiently again as you watched the TV and ate your meal, but again you didn't talk to me. Bedtime I guess you felt too tired. After you said goodnight to your family you plopped into bed and fell asleep in no time. That's okay because you may not realize that I am always there for you. I've got patience, more than you will ever know. I even want to teach you how to be patient with others as well. I love you so much that I wait everyday for a nod, prayer or thought or a thankful part of your heart. It is hard to have a one-sided conversation. Well, you are getting up once again. And once again I will wait, with nothing but love for you. Hoping that today you will give me some time. Have a nice day! Your friend, GOD (the Self) When I read this I did not think so much about my relationship with God as much as my relationship with my Self.* How I often do not take the time to just be quiet and listen to my inner Self. I run all day long and often don't take the time to stop and observe what is going on with me apart from all that is "happening" around me and in the world. I am a being independent of what goes on around me and often I do not take the time to see that, to just be with myself. Hence, I am sharing this with you. I have an idea that if we all take more time to be quite, to smell the roses, and listen to the Self and what it has to say that we will all get along better and our lives will be less complicated, simpler and more enjoyable. Take the time to thank God for all the wonderful things that happen to you all day long. Thank him for the sunny day, the rain, the beautiful flowers. Thank her for the food on your table, the roof over your head and the clothes on your back. Be thankful at the monent that things happen and you will be closer to your Self all the time and it will become more natural and more rewarding. I have become more openly verbal about being immediately thankful and recently when I was taking my 12 year old daughter some place we were looking for a parking place. When we pulled into the lot and there was a person pulling out, I said "Thank you God" very simply and she looked at me with a bit of surprise and I told her that I have started to just verbalize my gratefulness and it has been more freeing to me. I notice how most people won't hesitate to openly yell at a person that cuts them off on the road or cuts in line when driving, but I rarely see people thanking someone for letting them into line or allowing them to get ahead. Let us show more positive support for positive actions and there will be more positive energy in the world, making it a more enjoyable place to be. *The Self and God are really one and the same. The difference is the Self is the God that lives in you and each of us and all things. It is a more personal relationship that brings God home. When we talk about God, most people put her outside of us, something that is not reachable when in fact God lives in all of us and in all things. Share
